Car is fine in park, wants to die once in gear...
Re: Car is fine in park, wants to die once in gear...
Sounds very similar to what I'm expierencing...although when I start the car the rpms are at like 2200 and when I rev it sometimes the rpms get stuck for a bit and I have to put it in gear a few times to drop them down..when I'm driving it the rpms are exceptionally high.. I do about 40 and the rpms are at like 4 to 5 thousand...now just a few minutes ago I was backing up my driveway and the car surged and stalled out...I have no idea what the problem is and as I've mentioned so many times I restored the car fully so everything ignition and fuel is brand new...can any one shed some light if possible? Thanks guys

I dunno about your problem JAWS89GTU, I'm guessing you've checked the IAC? Did you try a idle relearn? And for the highway thing, you completely sure that it has all three gears? I know mine was missing 2nd gear when I got it (put a new tranny recently so now I have all 3)
Anyone know how to reattach the plastic cowl panel at the base of the windshield? I think that thats the reason my drivers side carpet keeps getting soaked and why my digital dash get screwy when the car is washed or it rains. The cowl panel is just sitting on there and doesn't appear to be attached to anything at all.

Yea both my driver and passenger side floor panels get soaked when it rains good...I sat in the car and on the passenger side it looks as if the water was coming from behind the glove compartment...where should I caulk to stop this and anything brand or specific caulkor sealant to use to stop this issue?

Use the search function, there are a billion and a half threads on this. I also think there is a how-to on the main page.JAWS89GTU wrote:Yea both my driver and passenger side floor panels get soaked when it rains good...I sat in the car and on the passenger side it looks as if the water was coming from behind the glove compartment...where should I caulk to stop this and anything brand or specific caulkor sealant to use to stop this issue?

The plastic cowl panel your talking about has holes in it for air flow, if you seal it to the bottom of the windshield, it will still have holes in it... The panel is held down by push pins. It has nothing to do with your water leak.GTU89 wrote:Anyone know how to reattach the plastic cowl panel at the base of the windshield? Check the TPS wires, if they are ok then replace the TPS. That should fix the high idle.JAWS89GTU wrote:Sounds very similar to what I'm expierencing...although when I start the car the rpms are at like 2200 and when I rev it sometimes the rpms get stuck for a bit and I have to put it in gear a few times to drop them down..when I'm driving it the rpms are exceptionally high..
