That bracket looks like its in the way of the ac, are you forced to delete it?

No, there was an AC compressor on this car when I took it apart, we opted for the delete pulley since his whole system was removed.

Nm nm i see it now its the black one behind the ac... Thats the only thing you need?? What is the reason for the change? Is thag where the previous mount connects on the old engine?

because the 3400 mount wont bolt to the stock mount from your 3.1. and yes you'll re-use your rear mount.

Or i have a pdf 'plan' of a manual front mount bracket if you want to make your own.

Actually I'd kind of like to see that plan Ron, interested in trying to save the money, I have some hook ups with fabrication now and a little know how... I'd really appreciate it.

So basically power steering lines, coolant lines, this mount, the chip, and just relocating the coils and it's pretty much in? Doesn't sound too bad.

I'm gathering up parts now for the project... Got a couple questions though....

I have some spare cables from my 90 GTZ and the ones on the GTU feel shot... Will they interchange?

Also, I bought a lot of Boners old suspension a few years ago, Eibach and Bilstein setup. I believe they're intended for a V6 Beretta... I am tempted to swap the KYB suspension off of my 90 GTZ onto the GTU if it will swap (struts and shocks), and put the good stuff (Bilsteins) on my GTZ. It's been a while since I've kept up with those kind of details (I know GTZ suspension stuff but haven't ever really messed with V6 stuff).

Going to also throw my GTZ's 92+ brake setup on instead of messing with buying new parts and such (brembo pads, kazera drilled/slotted rotors, new bearings/hub assemblies).

Also, anyone happen to know if you can still get clips for GTU/Indy GFX?

No one knows?

Also, would the AC compressor that came with this 3400 plug up to my 89's system? (I believe the car was a 99. I THINK we left the Compressor on there...)

Beyond that, I've got a little plan for the exhaust on this car that I want to try, not sure if I've ever seen anyone do it on an L-body, but I'm going to look at the possibility of true duals when I fab up the exhaust...

Priced out the majority of my parts today, came to less than $230 so far... should be a cheap little project compared to the others I'm involved with.

yes the suspension will all swap over. its kinda crazy how cheap the swap is when it comes to the little piddle stuff aint it? duals are very possible, just its a VERY tight fit, and i dont think its ever been done on our cars, but i know it has on the j-bodies. i dont think the a/c will just swap over though, but there's a good chance that your compressor off of your gtu will bolt to your 3400. i would do research on it though.

The picture I posted has a 89 bracket on the 3400 engine... so your original compressor should work fine... If you want the newer stuff then you run into issues with the way it mounts, It wants to use the two bolt holes the front engine mount uses... so I don't think that will work. I found that out when i tried to use a 04 Grand AM AC delete pulley on Roberts car...

Ahh ok, Well hopefully the original compressor is in good shape, if not, oh well!

I start working on the car today, pulling it out from back in the woods heh... Clean it up and take a closer look at it and the engine, see if there's anything else I need.

Come to find out Boner sold me some worn out Gabriel shocks and struts, surely not he Bilstiens he advertised them as... Not very happy about that at all... I guess I just need to hope that the springs he sold me were REALLY Eibachs...

Got the car out the woods and sorta straightened out, need to get it to my house now.

i recall reading that the bilstiens were inserts that had to be installed into another shell to work on these cars? just the front i would imagine...

Pics of the stuff boner sold you? I'm sure he'll chime in soon regarding it.

But yes you need shells for the inserts for Bilstiens, and koni's to work right... Koni yellows are still out there for j-bodies and will go in those worn gabriel struts if you feel like doing the work.
