Yeah, why bother cleaning it up now when I can clean it up when I do the swap.

i done this on my 96 and i was able to route it through the hole.
I didnt have a kit like you, i had several pieces of piping from various cold air intakes and cut and pasted it together with different angles and such.
It was tight going down but did fit. since the winter i have taken it off and just made it short ram intake so it gets some heat off the egnine, i was having cold start issues and thought that might be part of the problem but still does it.

Here's mine before the OBDII conversion:

hey theres my battery. other then the 3400 and being red it almost looks like my cars twin..
UMMMM... hmmmmm where is your air mass sensor ?? i think thats what its called.. it goes on the intake pipe and wires going to it. do you put it down below with the filter ?
I had mine inline up at the top when i routed my CAI.

If you are talking about the MAF, this picture was pre-OBDII swap.
If you are talking about the inlet air temperature sensor, or IAT, then that is on the side by the brake booster; Tranzgenic drilled the hole on that side of my pipe.

snowblindburd wrote:Yes, a bit of battery relocation is necessary in most cases. As Jon said, especially for square ended batteries like mine. Man, I need to rework that intake. Think I'm gonna start by getting rid of those horrible blue couplers lol. Then a new battery.
You know, you can buy the couplers from me if you like!
With that said, I am FINALLY going to get my pricing and packages all posted up today! Now in fact!

What kind of couplers are you selling Ryan? Same as the kind I have already? I was looking at some other styles, but if the price is right I'd just buy a set of those in black from you. I hate the blue.

Does it make a difference having them mounted like the ones on the 1st page verses the way the previous owners did mine? I'm guessing mine is more of a warm air intake the way it is?

Yes you have a short ram or warm air. You will have to cut some of the front support to get a CAI in. That's what I had to do on my 90GT. There is a small hole near the battery that you have to make larger. Styluss needs a PDF on this or something.

I have detailed installation instructions that I provide to buyers. I would be happy to post them up on here as well.

Do you run the risk of hydro locking if you run it the way on the 1st page though?
And does it make a noticeable difference having it that way?

I never had that problem on my 90GT or my 95 base, but I run K&N filters. My car is a DD and is out in all weather. The first page are photos of newer cars. Yours will be on the other side of the battery.

Styluss did you take your site down?

If you get water where the filter is under the battery, you are going to have more problems to worry about besides a hydro-locked engine.

I couldn't really tell exactly where the CAI was routed on the 1st page pics
