Re: My 1994 DGGM Base - 57k Miles - DGGMGTU?
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Glad to see there's still people out there that are a fan of the less is more theme
Couple of other photos:
This is what a 300,000+ mile rocker panel looks like on a car from the Midwest:

I was going to remove the sideskirt mounting brackets from my GTU, and this section was literally just hanging from the car. Needless to say it's been parked for about a year and a half now, but still....scary. Glad I stopped driving the car when I did.
A couple of night shots taken with my phone:

Still debating on installing the spoiler or not...either way I'm going to delete the high mount stoplight. (As far as I know, it was never there from the factory!)
For about 5 minutes I like seeing the spoiler on there, the next 10 I love the simplicity of it without. Really a fan of Robert's car with the GTU kit and no spoiler.
I definitely agree the car needs lowered - the suspension from my GTU is getting donated to my to the DGGM. I also need to find WAY better tires for the GTU wheels - I'm using the set I last auto-crossed on pretty hard and they're tore up pretty good.
I also installed an auto-dimming compass mirror with temp. sensor - no pics yet.
Really need to fix the exhaust leak on this car....starting to sound like azz...
I'm really in love with this color and the GTU kit. Really reminds me of Erich's car back in its glory days. What I find interesting, and to the unknown, this car might appear to be a "teal" INDY....without decals. The colors are similar, in certain lights.

Want to see this car in person and drool from a safe non-car-wash-needing distance. mmmmmmmmmmmmm I want to see this car in a photoshoot with Eric's DGGM.

Very nice. Keep up the good work.
My first beretta was a DGGM base. At the time I hated the color. Know that it is gone I miss it. I loved how the color looked different depending on the lighting.

Erich's car with the GTU wheels on it - yes indeed!snowblindburd wrote:Want to see this car in person and drool from a safe non-car-wash-needing distance. mmmmmmmmmmmmm I want to see this car in a photoshoot with Eric's DGGM.
Are you going to BFest?
Most definitely going to Bfest again this year. Hopefully the '91 is boosted by then...if not, there will be something else to drive - with working A/C. I've toyed with the idea of having someone else drive it, but I'd rather reserve that for a mini-fest or something closer.
GTU had Sprint springs and KYB gas-a-justs in the rear, GR-2's up front. I'd almost rather find a set of Eibachs and not lower it so much, and donate the old set of springs to my stepdad's 87 Sunbird. (I just got a great deal on the Sprints at the time and they aren't bad for what they are - I'd prefer another set of Intrax actually....)MY91GT(Z) wrote:x2 on the spoiler needs to be on but I would do it on another decklid so u can switch up when u feel like it. what kind of suspension is in the ol gtu
And I'd definitely like to score another trunklid - the current one has a weird dent above the upper filler panel that really annoys me. It's rather small but a pretty big eyesore really. A new trunklid would solve both problems however.

Wooooooow!! I've never really thought much about that color, but you re-defined it with that look. The car looks absolutely amazing. Nice job man.

Looks awesome, man. I agree it needs a spoiler though...I've never liked the naked look.
The rotted rocker brings me back down memory lane...haha If you look close you can see concrete through the hole! And that was only 127k in NY...
