I expected some grief for my statements. Believe me or don't, I don't care. It's not like I have a history of telling tall tales on here. I've run into very few new V6's and V8's that stock for stock can make the Z look bad or even beat it.

I just don't think the v6's are worth the money. There are PLENTY of fast Quads and TC's absolutely SMOKING the 6 and 8 cylinders. Come on, it's not like it's a stretch to believe. I'm sorry you don't believe me. It's all good.

well I believe u man cause I had a 95 grand am with quad 4 auto though and I beat my buddys northstar caddy I was proud of that car for the low output engine it had for being an auto she was fast I can only imagine what my w41 will run like when I can get ahold of the add ons I want :shock:

I know there is fast I4 that eat V6-v8, but what I'm saying is Power vs Money spent the bigger cube will get the upper hand. that's why I said use Forced induction and use the breathing power of the Quad. N/A is awesome but it gets expensive very Quick to be competitive vs a V6. I'm not bashing you SGR, just having a friendly chat on a forum.

lol...but seriously guys if anybody has any blanks for sale I'm interested because I'm gonna try to get these repoped for us quad guys I'm gonna talk to a couple of my local area speed shops and see if they can remanufacture them goin off the original blanks then I can start selling them to everybody that needs them and wants a custom grind so, I don't wanna grind the blanks till I get a few of the repops goin then grind sone custom cams let me know guys

So speed shops are foundry's now? :lol: Nobody on here has any blanks dude. The only person the MAY have blanks that MAY actually sell them to you is Jeff (Draftinwitjr) on the quad 4 forums. You got a grand to spend on blanks and another infinite amount of $$$ to spend on forms and tooling to have more made? :ROFL: Sorry if your a closet millionaire and I'm offending you right now, but otherwise godspeed homie, may the force be with you or whatever? ughh :bad: :unknown: %)

I talked to draftinwitjr on quad forums and he has 1 used hg2 cams (.224s), and 2 new sets of the same ones, I want to get the used ones and then get them reground to 228 duration with i'm not sure if I should go with 435 lift or 440 lift what would run the best with that duration and have no valve piston interferance tell me what u guys think about it cause I'm a good ol small and big block chevy guy I'm still learning on quads but have owned many in my life and love the motors give me your opinion, I just don't wanna push it too high where I have to use a stand alone system

Just run the HG2's as-is. What are your supporting mods you plan on doing with these cams?

probably the intake manifold, header, and 2.5" exhaust with probably a series 44 flowmaster not sure yet, and when I get a chip burnt specifically for the upgrades I do will I loose the lope of the cans in the quad forums I heard of some people loosing the lope of the cams getting a chip for them

What about the intake manifold? The one and only $500 header and 2.5'' exhaust, ok... I don't know what you're talking about losing the lope, it's not going anywhere. A chip matching the mods will make the car run better, that's what you want, and that's the point of modding it, is it not? So you're going to run a stock head and stock internals? Good luck with that... You're going to have $1,500+ in just the cams, header, and exhaust.

Not sure on the intake yet but definately a header and exhaust, I'm gonna run the stock w41 head with hg2 cams, and stock internals, but I'm gonna check the main and rod bearings first to make sure the cam doesn't need cut down a bit and while I'm at it I'm gonna throw some arp rod bolt and arp head studs in it, and if the crank needs cut I'm not sure if I should have it rebalanced with the rods or not

I heard some people on the quad forums losing their lope of their cams as soon as they get a chip burnt for theirselves idk if their idle is set too high or what but I do bot want that to happen I want people to ask what's under your hood I know u know the feeling

Better running car > Better lope, that's what you want! Also, there is no such thing as a W41 head.
