Damn, thats nice. Did you take the molding off the rear window (the ugly rubber stuff that tends to turn gray/white over time) or don't the later models have that?

Yes, I took the rear window rubber molding off when I bought the car. It was shrunk really bad and cracking.

I may do that.. you just pulled it off? Does the same apply to the ugly windshield molding?

Yeah, I just pulled it off. My windshield molding is in nice shape, and it's not like the rear. I'd leave it alone.GTU89 wrote:

It doesn't look bad if you clean it up and possibly add some paint since both his and mine took of paint IIRC. I still need to clean mine up a bit and then add some black paint so it doesn't look stupid.

could one of you guys post a close up shot of what it look likes with out that trim? mine is in the same boat as far as condition. what type of sealant did you replace that trim with to stop leaking?

Re: Is Clay Barring worth it?
The trim itself does NOT stop the window from leaking, It's just a gap cover. You can fill the gap with silicone or something or window weld to make it a bit neater, but if you don't you will just have to trim back the glue that holds the window in place and then touch that up with paint as they noted so its not so obvious.themadness wrote:@snowblindburd or scd88ga

^what he said. If the weather doesnt blow today, I'll grab a picture when I'm cleaning her. It's not too pretty at the moment. maybe I'll clean it up too.
Oh, and your car looks great as usual, Jon! Post a picture when you get to Bfest to show the bugs =). I don't think I've ever seen your car dirty.
