Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
Well it didn't run a 12, not that I really thought it would, at least at this point, but the 13.75 while a little discouraging, showed some strengths. (And NOBODY on here is going to come close to it N/A for a good long while even at that!)
The 1.87 60' time actually was a shock, and it was repeatable.
That converter is better than I even imagined. Puts the car right into the power band, and does not slip after that. The 102 mph run is pretty solid confirmation.
And it didn't break anything! I gave it everything it had (7000 RPM on one run) and it didn't complain or miss a beat.
So from here we start the progression and the tuning. I'm going to book some Dyno time in the next couple of weeks and see what else there may be there to draw from.
Thanx to everyone for the kind comments and encouragement on the car. It is very much appreciated.

I'm of the opinion anything quicker than a 1.95 is almost unbelievable on one of our cars, and here I sit with five 1.93 or better however every track is different.
I'll have to look at the three runs I made last week at Cayuga.
I didn't make note of the 60' times there.
I'll look tomorrow

1.87 on DR's on a FWD is really amazing. That has got to throw you back pretty good

Ask Lil'Jon. He was in the other lane and couldn't believe how the car left on him.
But it is nice that the DR's held on.

Nevermind the .3 sec delay that I was watching you leave.... LOL that's the only reason why you won that one... well that and the fact that my bottle was basically empty... I think if I had filled the bottle before running you I would have spanked your ass.
I got 2.0 60ft times and I think I can get them better if I get a smaller wheel like what Eric is running.

THAT'S what we didn't do and we both forgot.
Hell we had lots of time to put my tires on your car. DAMN IT!
OH YA. They won't fit over your fancy ass brakes, LOL!

DONT CHANGE YOUR CAR. Ill get slicks for NE and we can be close again?!
By September that 13.75 will be a distant memory, Barry!
This car tends to evolve rather quickly. Heck it went from 14.99 to 14.06 in about six months on the stock 3500.
And here we are 9 months after that and it's 13.75. Time waits for no one, especially old men in old cars.
My S&S headers are spoken for, and the new ones from Forced are to be ordered this week, and the 78mm TEC TB is next on the list.
And Jeff swears he can get me a 4.06 FDR gear set and chain for $650 out of Seattle that won't dissapate in one run.

I really don't give a rat's ass about power-adder cars!
102 mph in a 3250 pound Beretta in the 1/4 mile is making a bit of power, don't ya think?

They would fit over the brakes since I only have the GA ones now... But they wouldn't fit the 5x115 bolt pattern. That's my issue.asylum wrote:THAT'S what we didn't do and we both forgot.

And just remember its a lot easier to hack off time in the 14 sec realm than it is in the 13 sec realm... it takes an exponential growing amount of power to bring the times down the same.
