Mike you must go! Im making a double effort to go, so think you should tag along with us. We will be stopping in Albuquerque for one of the nights. that would give you all day that money (the 20th) to get your stuff together and meet us at the hotel ;)

And reason for "really" going, cause im going and i know you like me......least i think you do lol

LoL, of course I do. I consider you a friend. Unfortunately more than anything, I think financial constraints will be dictating. :D

I wish you were going, we could compare Quasars and make fun of ignorant people.

Yeah, it would be cool to have a record number of quazars at the fest this year. It seems every year there is only one of two there. Would be cool to see three or four there ;)

Well, little update. Pulled the spark plugs out to see how all was burning. Looks good. Added some anti-seize to the plugs. Also, noticed my HO pulley had a "wobble" to it while the car was running. Switched back to the bigger pulley and wobble gone. So, seems my HO pulley is not really good.

Also, since it's had several heat cycles to seal the gaskets up now, I gave it it's first hard pulls through the gears to redline jumping on the interstate. Jumped to 120mph rather quickly. Power is definitely better, you can absolutely feel the better flow, and the car just runs better all around. Runs cooler, smoother, more powerful , and more responsive than it has since I bought it.

Man, the more I drive her, the more power seems to come back! I didn't have two of the exhaust manifold nuts for the studs (two of the studs in the 086 head are m10's vs all m8's in the 456 head) and picked them up today and installed them. Even just sealing up that little exhaust leak made a small difference.

And as the car mates all it's new gaskets, surfaces , and parts together better with each passing day, the power gets better with each passing day. I'm quickly renewing my enthusiasm for these powerful little Quads! :D :D :D

As much as my Quad pissed me off, I must admit there is something special about them that if you've never owned one you will never Get!

Indeed! Well stated. I have cussed at ALL my Quad's to the point of making up NEW cuss words sometimes. They can be absolutely INFURIATING sometimes when building/repairing/maintaining them. But when it's all done and she purrs like a kitty cat and roars like a lion, there's no better feeling. :D

yeah so mine took hail damage on the roof and hoos, but its very very small dings and thank god it didnt actually break my paint or chip it... meh this is why I am buying another retta as a daily driver... SGR don't feel too bad, my financial status seems to be dictating that I cannot attend bfest this year either, it's sad but true... so anyways I may have a question or two regarding the complications of your top end swap.. was it hard? and just how much power am I missing? (I had a head gasket rebuild this past april, we had that discussion).. since then I haven't done a whole lot because of work and such, but I get lucky and have a promotion I will happily sink serious money into my gtz.

Sure, feel free to shoot me any questions you have bro. I don't mind helping out. The swap is not hard. Just a tad time consuming. You just need to take your time with a Quad. They seem pretty intimidating at first when tearing one down, but honestly , they're very simple to work on and mod.

so the update since my cape cod vacation is as so... my gtz when running at idle has a rattling type noise which seems to be coming from a pulley on the left hand side (when facing under the hood)... aka the passenger side belt area.. could a worn out serpentine belt be the cause of this noise? It's bugging me and I don't know enough about q4 engines yet to determine the problem.. I just got back from vacation so I will try my best to get a video up for you SGR, but I figured I'd come to you first before posting this in the general problem forum.
