Upper intake needs some smoothing and a light coat of black to finish off the look.

First off nothing on the car is rigged. It was just to make sure it didn't leak. This trans can handle your driving eric. There is also a rumor that the clutch doesn't rattle anymore.
hahaha

I'd like to drive it and see how the clutch feels. I'm happy with my Spec though. And the Spec in the Camaro is awesome.

The detent cover was punched with a screwdriver by the looks and sealed with RTV instead of replaced.

Chill, Robert. I'm not nitpicking I'm just wondering why the detent cover wasn't replaced. The assembly manual instructions tell you to punch a hole in the detent cover to pop it out and then replace it. And I've heard that Syncromesh will eat RTV and that's why anaerobic sealer is used for the trans case halves. That RTV could leak in time.

Try to get a video of the rattle of you can. I still feel that it is the trans and not the clutch

Ok, the cover is rubber coated and should seal as-is. That pic shows a glob of RTV that looks like it's filling a hole and I've heard of guys doing that before because the covers were rumored to be discontinued...but they are still out there if you look hard enough. I bought a few the last time on the possibility I'd have to split the SOB apart again.

He put the corner of an allen key to pop it free i believe.
I was standing right there when he did it.He put RTV like i said the first time because he didn't want me to have a problem down the road. There are no holes in it.The RTV is assurances

I was going to say it looked like he did something to make it removable in the future and did not just cover a hole.

As far as the rattle goes, it's the trans, its dead quiet when it's cold but once warm it makes the noise. Makes me wonder if a mix of some Redline MTL shockproof oil with the syncromesh would quite it down. That's why I assumed the noise was gone since when I first started it the trans was cold, but after going for a ride the noise was back. It was also quiet this AM when I started it up.

I hope your comfortable with my work then since I did not use much RTV on the motor at all... ;) I've found that using the gaskets as they were designed yields a better leak free engine, It's kept mine dry for three years now.

the only spots i put RTV on were a few small spots on the timing cover gasket to hold it in place and that was only a small paste i spread out with my finger. and then the obvious spot in the valley and a small amount where the valve cover gasket V's in at the head and LIM.

we gotta get together sometime so you can show me the Jedi knowledge with the transmission.

Well I found what was giving me hell with fuel delivery... The line going up was at a rough angle and twisted a little so needless to say when you would give it gas the O2's were reading WAY to low and I just couldn't fathom why.

I'll reposition the lines when I get home for better routing since it may be easier from below.

Getting a vid later today, and sorry Robert, Eric was right, not much lope at all, I would have to slam the idle way down to get any. Bummer, but at the same time I don't think you want much with it being a 5-speed, it would make driving it a bear.

When stall speed is whatever your left foot wants it is fine. haha And first gear in the 282 is pretty deep anyway. (3.50:1)

First gear is pretty useless right now with this setup... not sure if its the tires or not but if you even go half throttle its starting to spin.
