Yes they can go bad and yes it is more likely when hot.

You check the resistance of the injectors when hot or when it acts up.  I would highly suggest you get a repair manual if you are going to do these repairs yourself so you can learn what you are doing and exactly how to do them.

k im planning on checking the ijectors this afternoon at the shop.  another thing i notice that happens is when it is acting up if i floor it it will reach about 3 grand and spit and sputter but then it will want to downshift like it should when you floor it but it will take awhile for it to get into gear.  it is like it is in neutral and then it will just pop in and start going again in the lower gear. what could cause that?
