Man it sucks with how much prices differ depending on where you are... I bought a 2005 3400 with 4k miles on it in early 2007 for $400... and then a 2004 3500 with 4k on it two weeks later for $400... Thats how I got my hybrid.

Little update for you all.
I got all my cloth in for my new interior....AWESOME.
The Upper and Lower intake have been ported.
The lifters, springs, and some head work is being done.
New valve cover seals, new upper and lower intake gaskets.
Painted upper and lower intakes and valve covers
New clutch, flywheel (new, not re-manned) pilot bearing being installed tomorrow.
The engine will be done being "built" on Thursday, March 18th.
The car goes under the knife Friday, March 19th.
April 1st ETA, the car goes in for two weeks for "under the knife". Rear fenders are being cut out in some sections and remade from scratch due to rear fender rust around the wheel wells.
Repaint the rear end of the car, including bumper, painted all the GTU gfx. Painting the door rockers.
The rear fenders will also be rolled back and /or "fixed" due to the car sitting so low. OOPS!
April 20th ETA. Seats go into shop to be re-foamed and re-clothed. (that was a tuff bunch of $$$$ to swallow for just some fricken cloth!)
I am installing the new carpeting and new foam backing insulation stuff that week as well as cleaning the car as best I can and adding the new floor mats. (No new door panels or dash...yet. sad.gif )
Driving to WI with the car (314,XXX miles on the frame.) June 16th and will be in WI until BFest 2010.

AH I got you beat! lol Right now my red car has 330k on the frame... I will not be bringing that one to bfest though... lol It did go to Niagara with 300k on the frame IIRC... 3400's are getting expensive as the demand increases. (They were used in quite a few vehicles).
Up here 3500's are actually significantly less expensive which makes sense in that they were only a three year engine and the demand for replacements is rather low.
You can find good ones in the $300-$400 range
I'm going to have to look into those floor mats for the Quad.

So some time has passed. Here is a break down.
Engine is installed and done. New IAC put in today.. Had horrible idle problems and it kept stalling on me.
Car has been painted and back in the garage.
Pulled out the interior and it will be done next Tuesday. In the mean time, I pulled out the carpeting and found some rust on the floor. Been busy sanding it down, priming it, painting it and repainting the seat rails.
New brakes all the way around. Had a small leak from the master cylinder...hope it holds till I get back or all anyone will see is my car on a trailer and I would've brought the car for nothing. lol. Thank God I have an E-Brake again! The carpeting goes in this weekend and the seats go in next Tuesday. Then that following Sunday I put the car on the trailer and we head to WI a week before Bfest. Talk about done to the wire!

The floor has been sanded...no holes thank goodness, re primed and re painted. Pics are below.

Just used some Black Rustoleum and other rust preventive stuff. Then I used some white Rustoleum paint.

The carpet is in and the back seats are in. I get the front seats tomorrow....and I leave for BFest / Wisconsin on Sunday!!!
Anyways....the engine is in and runs. Still haven't really driven the car yet...hope it works at BFest.

Why did you have to roll the fenders? Stock offset even lowered shouldn't rub.

Felpro sells the older valve cover gromets. 8 to a set so I'm assuming its for the bolts.
