At least you're getting out a little cheaper than me. I needed a new TOB, pressure plate and clutch fork... that was $3-400 and all the aggravation of trying to find a discontinued fork.

PDQ said to send them the converter, and that it would be under $100 plus shipping so that's not bad... I'm, probably looking at close to the same.
170+93+100= 363...
I guess it could be much worse... lol

Oh wow that sucks man. I made a rule for myself: read everything the night before you work on something. If I start working on something I'll will only scan over everything and end up having to do it over again. I hate having to redo things just because I think that I can do it on my own without all the info. And I have done that too many times over the years. It all comes down to the wrong placement of one little thing that screws it all up. Then the bitching and the head slapping start. Oh and something very hard gets punched and that does help, but makes it hard to work with a hurt hand(lol).
keep'em flying!

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Well, finally it back on the street and MOVING! I drove it to work today with no issues... But DAMN I hate high stall converters on the street they feel so slippish! Still need to swap back to N-body brakes, and finish up some minor details, but all seems to be running well... not much changed on my tune at idle, and part throttle, so lets just hope some of the porting work I did helped... LOL I'm seeing about a +3% adjustment in the short term fuel trim while driving and maybe minimal +2% ones for some long term areas, but other than that its pretty close to zero.
I'm starting to wonder if I should try just a stock 2700+ stall converter that is beefed up like my 2095 one was... I'm really not fond of the 3100+ stall, BUT then again I have yet to put the smaller brakes on it or run it at the strip so I can't say anything for sure yet.

The converters take some getting used to as the trans seems to feel like it is having an issue when in reality it is doing what you set it up to do.
You'll get used to it hopefully.

Ok I was waiting for you to chime in with the same sort of feeling... I've just been very iffy with this converter from day one when I got it way back when... BUT just a week ago it was cut open to clean it out and inspected so all is well inside of it I know that for sure, but yeah its just really hard to get use to, especially now going from a 5-speed to this... lol

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Why? do you guys ever listen to my reasons for keeping the auto? I guess not since you think after I drive a 5-speed that I will want to do that. The car will always stay an auto, as much as that makes your ass pucker, it doesn't bother me one bit.
Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
Here here!
I love manual transmission cars, but for an auto I always loved how the Z drove. So I have to agree. And mine has never had a tune up in its life of the sort you guys get into.
I do SOMETIMES miss the old 4 speed manual 82 Cav..... But then I think about the shitty 1.8L 4 banger it had and I shudder.

Did I buy my Legacy to run at the strip? nope... So I guess that means I went with the 5-speed for the joy of driving it to just have fun.

Never argued a 5-speed isn't fun... Its just not something I want to get into with the Beretta

Re: January 2010 Project Begins (Raspberry)
I understand. I have understood for quite some time.
I really dont need to be cutting up my truck to swap in a 5spd either, but if I found one cheap it would be tough to pass up.
