Codes popping up like that could be a ton of things... Some of the codes you see don't mean that specific item has failed... aka misfire doesn't mean JUST the ignition is bad as 1988GTU noted. You need to dig a little further and find the source of the issue.

Impossible to tell where I am sitting of course, but it isn't uncommon for the P/S pump and even the alternator to make sounds similar to what you are describing. I'm not sure how much of a stretch it is to hope for a problem there... Did the shop put in different accessories, or were they able to re-use your old ones? Some years of the 3400s had very different alternators than the 3100s, for instance... A cracked manifold could solve all of your problems once fixed, and a cheap trip to the junk-yard isn't the worst thing you could be looking at here. It is also really easy to get some of the wires caught between the upper and lower manifolds during assembly

. That could also cause your issues, especially if some of them were cut during the process, like the CTS for instance... Well, here is hoping for a cheap and simple fix.

Yeah i was thinking about going to junkyard for that. I could pretty much get any 3400 right? N i think a particular 3100?

Stick with 2000 and up, your choice on 3400 or 3100 in those years. Hell I think I have a 2000 3400 upper just sitting around if you don't find one.

I have one too, '03 maybe? I don't remember, but it DOES have the newer EGR version, I also still have the '99 from the block I put into my '90 turbo. Both of mine should still have the TBs on them too. PM me if you are interested, but with shipping, a local yard will likely be cheaper for you.

2000+ were all the same EGR... so as long as he currently has a 2000 or newer upper intake the EGR setup he is using should bolt right on there.
And I'm guessing he has a 2000+ already because if it were a 96-99 3400 then the 96 EGR would have fit with no issues at all and he wouldn't have had to get GA stuff.
