Your IAT made a code?
Glad to hear that your up and running good. What grade of gas do you need to run with that chip?

Yeah I did some reading and with the 88's with the MAF still in there it doubles as the IAT so I've got to work it into my cold air intake setup to get that code to drop off. As for gas I've ran 90+ in it since I put the cam in just to try to compensate for my lost milage. I don't think that it lists a gas rating for the chip itself but the cam does. Also on a further note runs great until warm then I have the same issue still so my memcal is fried and with that I actually was able to find a NEW one from the dealership for $90. Not a bad deal but the JY also has one listed as new so I called them on it said if it's listed as new it's been there 2 days or less so tomorrow morning after my 7 hour straight shift at work I'm going to get up at 8 (5 hours of sleep if I'm lucky) to hit the yard when it open and pray that the pickers haven't hit it for the ECM yet.

Oh man I was tired. Forgot about the MAF. Those things where junk and it would be best if you got a new one(if you have not already).
So you are going after the whole comupter?

No I bought a remaned board already so I'm not worried about that anymore. There is one thing I realized I've overlooked this whole time and thats the knock sensor. Not to sure what kind of problems they can have though.

It can only pull so much timing, just a few degrees. You can still get knock with them. I'd skip it.
Ok I have to ask, do you have a computer that is set up for a MAF? And are you running a IAT?
Try to up plug the vapor canistor and connect the two lines together. It's a shot it the dark. What do your plugs look like? Is the engine running rich or lean? You have a cam right(what cam)? Are you for sure that the timing is right(for that cam)?
I'm really reaching here because I have no idea what's going on. It would be nice to have a good scan to try and see just what's happening.
I don't know how you are taking this. It's making me nuts. No vacuum leaks right(it would have to be a bad one, lol)?
I want this fixed by the end of the year. Don't let me down.

Yeah your telling me. Of course we got a new TV so the last few days I had off I couldn't do anything but get everything set up had to look monday buy tuesday and work today. But I'm going to basicly go threw the whole wiring harness and check every damned thing that I can. I'm going to figure it's going to be something completly simple that's totally stupid that isn't anything.
Edit: By the way for some reason this all happened after I replaced my power steering hose. That's why I'm going to go threw all my connections in that area the most.

Nope just did the ICM today and still the same I need to retest the fuel. Anyone has anything other then injectors that could be the problem let me know.
Re: 88 2.8 GT about to be fixed! BUMPED!
I have 2 X 3.1 L ecm's just sitting around... if needed. they are cheap. few bucks +shipping...
My 3.1 has had a miss fire for a couple weeks not sure what it is, i scanned it and had a MAP problem so i swapped it out with a used one and no difference, i notice the miss fire mostly at 2,000 rpm holding at that if i give it more or less gas its not so noticeable, its also chugging once in a while like its surging.. my fuel pump is new 8 months ago, i replaced fuel filter, i have a brand new 02, changed out the MAP, And put new Plugs in a couple weeks ago and still same small little miss fire.. next i will check the injectors i guess. i have put 20,000 HARD KM on this thing and this problem just started recently, havent really gotten into it, i start it up every morning and drive to work with no problems being stranded so im not too worried ATM, ill get around to it soon. I have to do some small things to the New Z to get it ready for safety and etest so the 88 is the least of my worries right now.
if you need a ecm let me know, i got 2 of them sitting around. both ran my car fine when i tryed them 8 months ago.
i would also maybe check your connectors at the ECM, they get corroded pretty bad sometimes. could be a bad connection

Where does the wire plug into the vapor canister ?... Mine has been disconected for ever i cant seem to see where the plug goes so i just left it off and been that way since ive been driving it last summer. only recently i have a miss fire for some reason will check the injectors when i have time i have lots of spares if i need them.

if you want a ecm, pm me, 20 bucks Plus shipping... i might be able to do better... i paid 40 for the one. so im already loosing money.. both are from 3.1 L automatics..
I would trade one, for a heater control knob for a 96 Z for the center control.. and 2 rear marker lights and front ash tray.. you pay shipping.
Have you checked the TPS ? and Idle control sensor. i had a funny issue with mine when i swapped TB's with my ported on, 1 or the other was bad on it so i changed both. was causing high idle and stalling..

Alright so I went and pulled my fuel rail and injectors ohm tested them and bam 2 out of 6 are below 9ohms one is at like 11.7 or so anyone any comments on it i figure its going bad so i should replace it. The other 3 are fine. Let me know!
Re: 88 2.8 GT about to be fixed! BUMPED!
Anything under 12 ohms is considered bad. These should be between 12 and 13.

Perfect all 3 it is. Glad I desided to just pull and go and see what went on under there. Makes me wonder if one bank hadnt been replaced before. Now I can't wait to drive it going to be moving like 15 minutes drive from work and there will be times I need to go without the fiancee's car. Really needed to have it fixed so I just ripped into it and went. Got a LOT of new parts in the new motor so once I get it fixed I can look at getting suspencion parts ordered up and get that all worked out! Thanks everyone for all the help.
