Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
I'm waiting on the same thing. The rest of my stuff is apparently ready.
But this whole thing is on Ben's head. Those things should have been checked months ago!!
Damn pain in the ass is what it is!
And even then I'm sure if I want to trust the damn things. Obviously these things have not been tested at all on our engines!

Well two huge boxes showed up today from WOT.
Ported cylinder heads with Comp springs and Manley valves.
ARP head studs
New lifters and the silly little LS springs to put in them
New head bolts I don't need
Intake gasket set
The cam and that related stuff got here a couple weeks ago.
Just waiting on the timing chain and gears and this puppy is on the engine stand.
"Hold onto your bonnet Louise. It's gonna get crazy!"
And FOUR WOT-tech stickers!!! I figure they gotta be worth about $500 each!

Well it appears I now have all the parts gathered.
Heads, camshaft, pushrods, lifters, ARP studs, 3400 head gaskets, '99 timing chain set, all the associated gaskets and lubes.
I have to disassemble the lifters to install the LS springs, get the front header re-coated, and should be ready to go.
18 days and counting!! YIKES!

Yeah but if you work on it yourself you have 18 days of retiredness... I have to hit mine bit by bit every night if thats even possible, and on top of that I'm still waiting on transmission parts.

Mine is still sitting outside under a car cover! But it should be in its new home in 30-45 days.

Hopefully your's didn't get as much moisture as mine did when it lived under a car cover... Mine was bad when I pulled the interior out, and I think my head bolt rusting happened at that point in time too.
This time around however I did coat both the bolts, nuts and washers with some high temp BBQ paint, And I used silicone on the bottom of the external exposed washers to seal better, and I will be cleaning off any excess moly lube from assy and possibly spraying it again on the tops with the paint to prevent ANY rust build up, even if its only surface.

I HATE car coverrs!!
Whenever mine has had to sit outside for the winter, and that has been quite a few, I never cover it.
IMHO opinion they cause more damage than the protection they are suppose to offer.

Well, they do protect from the tree sap. And luckily I haven't done the final cut & buff on the paint, so it shouldn't be a big deal. I'll never have to worry about it again anyway!

Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
Car covers outside no do not protect against rain and such and can cause more issues due to moisture trap... however I do cover my car when in the garage... it keeps the crap off of it and thats very necessary since I've been doing a lot of work in there. The one thing I did do to my cover though was cut off the rubber bands that were in the ends of it so now its just a drape on cover, it's not all elastic tight at the bottoms.

I have a bunch of old sheets and stuff I throw over the stupid cars in the garage.
Now when I get the Quad back from paint in a week or two, no one is ever ever see it again!
It's going to hide forever!
LOL!

I am in the same boat as you 3X00-Modified. Have 99% of my motor ready to go in, all I have to wait on is two things to arrive. One of the two should be here real soon!

Re: 3500 N/A auto in the 12's?
I like mine black... but then again I also dont like the 3500 upper... I'm going back to the 3100 one this year possibly. Just gotta drop some more ching on another 3500 spacer then drill out the threaded holes so I can use it just as a TB spacer with Nitrous inlet.
Gray is hot... Thats the color of my trans, and motor... mix and matched parts are different colors, Oil pan is gray, block black, heads gray intakes black.. Trans case gray, trans diff cover black, trans side cover black... it actually looks pretty cool when all together.
And yeah my motor is now all done... UIM is the only part missing... But I'm waiting on one more 2nd clutch housing to compare with the two I have and pick the best one, and I'm getting another reaction shell since i really dont want to use one that has a heat mark in it... I'm having it checked today to see if its straigt though so I know the burn wasnt caused by a high spot.
And Eric speaking of your car in 12's... Do you know what clutch packs your Transmission God uses? Does he do the Blues? or the Stage 1's and does he get all the upgraded bands too?
