Installing Gtz/z26 fog lights n turn signals on base?
Installing Gtz/z26 fog lights n turn signals on base?
I put on the the GTZ body kit on my base model..and I got everything to get the lights installed..the fog light switch, the wiring harness and obviously the lights...is there anything I should be aware of? Any installation tips? Or switching out

This is an uber easy swap - at least it was on my 89. Remember that if you want your fogs on all of the time (wired correctly they will turn off when the high beams are turned on) ground the green wire coming off the relay.

Did you get the interior wiring harness too? base harnesses don't have the wires necessary on the internal harness... I know because I had to add one to my 96 to get the switch to work.

Re: Installing Gtz/z26 fog lights n turn signals on base?
I just installed a relay to the parking lights, and my bumper fog lights come on with the parking lights, as well as my flood lamps under the vehicle.
I ran custom wires, but used the stock plugs for the parts to help make it easier if I ever have to find replacements.
I also put the brighter turn signal and parking lamp bulbs in the front, the housing has never melted on me even in the 100 degree summer days being on while driving.
Just make sure you use the right gauge wire, Between my two fog lamps and 2 flood lamps, I wanted to run 4 100 Watt H3 bulbs, but got stuck using 2 of the 100 watt bulbs for fog, and 2 of the 50 watt bulbs for flood because My existing supply wire was getting to hot. It still gets somewhat hot, but not as bad.
I plan to change it in the future so I can get 4x100 Watt H3 bulbs.
What can I say, I have the power of the sun attached to the front of my car! 400 watts currently, eventually I want it up to 800 watts!
EDIT:
I did not use the stock fog switch, however I do have a backup switch under the hood for the fog and flood lamps of I ever have to turn them off, I think that the stock switch is just a switch, However I never taken the time to install it yet. I'm thinking it is connected into the headlamp switch and power supply, and it only comes on with low beams, but then again it might just be getting power from the low beam supply wire, in that case, the little light is probably in parallel with the switch. Don't quote me on anything though. This edit is just speculation.

The fog light switch gets power when the parking lights are turned on, and it does not shut off when you put your high beams on, that's done at the relay.
