New guy in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Post by 80zfreak »

Hi guys, New to the site and I've always had a thing for Beretta GTZ's. I don't currently own a Beretta, but I would like to change that. I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I have worked for General Motors for 17 years. 12 of those 17 years were in Janesville, Wisconsin, but they closed our plant so we transferred to Fort Wayne. So here's a little story about how I fell in love with the GTZ's.

In the fall of 1991 I was a Senior in high school and my Mom was looking for a new car. We pulled into Jon Lancaster Chevrolet in Madison, Wisconsin and there sat a Bright Red Beretta GTZ. It was easily the best looking car on the lot! We took it for a test drive and I was in love with the car and vowed I would own one someday. Unfortunately they wouldn't give her what she wanted for her Caprice on trade so she went to a Pontiac dealer and bought a Sunbird. I've often thought about that car and I would like to find one in really nice shape. I'm sure if I'm patient in my search one will pop up. Great site guys!

Welcome to the board! I used to live in Ft Wayne back in 92-93! LOL I was going to school there and I owned a red 4door cavy RS at the time. One of my classmates had a black GTZ that was all tricked out, and in 94 I finally bought the Aqua Z and have owned it since. You will find a beretta, don't worry. ;)

Welcome! I'm originally from the Milton/Janesville area!

I've been scoping out more Berettas myself, not sure if I'll end up buying another in the near future or not. Good luck with your search!

Cool, I'm actually from Edgerton. I used to go up to Stevens Point a bunch when my friends were in college up there 15-20 years ago (they were TKE's so it was pretty crazy). LOL Thanks the Welcome. I looked at a few GTZ's in Southern Wisconsin/Northern Illinois last summer, but they were pretty rusted out

Edgerton is where I was born! We didn't live there too long though. College is the reason I originally moved up here, but I love it here and have a good job, so, so far so good!

Yeah, I've been eyeing up that 1990 White GTZ on craigslist but I haven't made a move. I'll probably wait a few more months before seriously considering anything. I would prefer something rust free anyway.
