Re: 1989 GTU $1500
You DO NOT want this car, trust me. It is a heap.
This guy has been trying to sell it for years. He wants the money for the engine essentially but he'll never get it.

Re: 1989 GTU $1500
Why? A GTU is essentially a GT with ground effects, Z51 bar and 16" wheels - Don't get me wrong, I love 'em, but $1500 to part out? I think not.1990BerettaGTZ2.3L wrote:I don't know I think being a GTU should be worth $1500 just to partout

Re: 1989 GTU $1500
i have gtz's for sale near me, and if i thought i could scrounge $1,500 parting them, i would.. but anyways, heres the run down on what a quad 4 grand am will rake in after all is said and done selling local of course.
cost of car: $350, towing home: $20. total out of pocket investment, $370.
parts sold as follows with prices got for them:
quad 4 motor and trans: $400
shift cables: $100
scraped wheels: $56
scrapped rotors/drums: $8
scrapped shell: $200
scrapped cat: $50
total: $814, subtract $370 and you made $444. i kept the axles, though im sure i could have sold them too.
so figure on making roughly $450 profit on a days worth of work and your time. plus the time to find a buyer for the stuff ect, and depending on your local scrap yard. a gtz, if it has good gfx and clean interior, add another $200 to your profit margin, but even then, your hard pressed to find a buyer locally anymore who wants the stuff, and shipping gfx, or an engine/trans, seats, ect is just not practicle to most people.

Re: 1989 GTU $1500
Well I'm still on the lookout for an 89-91 quad for my car want one that's blown up or has a bad head gasket cause I'm gonna end up doin a mild rebuild no machine except for internals like crank cuttin , and gettin the assembly balanced again, but arp rod studs, head studs too, and a new timing chain and hg2s with w-41 chip

Re: 1989 GTU $1500
In my opinion, NO Beretta is worth $1500 to simply part out. You will never get that back unless you make some serious money on the engine and tranny.
