SOLD Wilwoods for sale.....seriously

Post by Amateur »

okay peeps, I'm taking my car in a different direction and am looking at selling my Wilwood brake setup to include 4 piston calipers, 12.19" rotors, brake pads, and stainless steel brake lines. I'll part for 600 bucks shipped. The brake pads are wilwood br-10's. They make ALOT of brake dust...like jesus christ, i've never seen so much brake dust in my life! I do have anti-squeal shims installed but it sometimes still squeals in situations like creeping at a stop sign. You could always buy a quiter, less dustier pad from the wilwood site if you so please (polymatrix street ones). I want to downgrade the brakes back to stock, slap on some 15x6.5's with 195/55 tires and focus on the motor...like a teardown, rebuilt with an IPP stroker kit (stock 88mm stroke to a new 91.2), crane gold rockers 1:6, wiseco superfly lightweight piston and rods, lightweight fidanza flywheel, and a shorter gear ratioed transmission courtesy of either a Geo storm GSi or an isuzu impulse XS internals (God bless you Isuzu derived beretta tranny!). My loss? seriously, you save like $400 over new.

from 88_GTU (thanks) :

whole Rotor is: 10.8lbs
comprised of:
Rotor itself: 9.6lbs
Hat: 1.2lbs
I think that's around the same weight as stock rotors.
I don't know the caliper weight off hand...

Damn, wish i had the bucks, but the car and my bank account don't need bigger brakes right now.

I like the direction you're going with it now, but I liked those brakes on there too.

Wow, that was fast! I'm just wondering why everyone who has done a big brake upgrade is so quick to go back to stock. That is two that I now of here recently.

Big brakes slow you down. And the less power you have to start with the more you notice it. haha

Sweet z24!

I had one bad Cavalier and hated them for a long time, but now I'm really starting to like them.
