Getting a degree wrench today so I can finally torque the mains and rods to 100% spec... I've always guessed at the degree amount and its worked before, but I guess it's time to have the right tools.
When Mike torqued down the head on the GTZ he did some strange VooDoo dance, and then placed his hand in the way of the wrench and just "knew" it was good.
I figured it was some ancient torquing technique that was passed from father to son.
I trust him to do it anyway, with my luck I'd get to 89.5/90 degrees and the wrench would implode on me.

Well everything is torqued and angle set... just needs the timing cover and oil pan. I'm actually trying out the 3500 lim valley gaskets this time rather than a thick bead of silicone feels like it will seal pretty good, jus need a dab where they meet the LIMG.

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
interesting. i was gonna do what you did with the valley gaskets but i wasn't sure if it would hold and really didn't feel like tearing it all apart again just to fix that. had thoughts about drilling the block but never got around to that\.

They are squeezed in there pretty good. Make sure both of the tabs are on the inside and they line up perfectly.. I had one backwards at first and I was all confused about it.

OHHHHHH Purdy!

I also got the last set of Cougar rear shocks that Koni made for the rear of my car... Once in my life I would have never thought I would own ONE pair of Koni shocks... I currently have 3 pairs!
All is going in tonight since the Subie is still on hold...

I have a set of TOG's that have smaller runners that I may try sometime, see if they make more low end torque... but that just wasn't going to happen if I want to get to Denver this year.
