what did you do to your ride today?
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Well the other day I pulled the front bumper off a beretta at a scrap yard to replace mine, going to buy it today for $40 or so. I would be taking the front passenger fender as well but I'm missing the torque thing to take the hood off. Pain in the ass repairing front collision damage on Berettas, take the whole front end off for one thing lol.
Probably going to change out my bumper next week when I have the money to get the fender as well, would be smarter to just get it all done at once. Plus I need to get a propane torch or something to rebend my brackets to get the bumper on since they are bent so bad that I need to cut my old bolts
Who would have thought that a 15mph fender bender could do soo much damage.

Torx thing...? No, just remove the two 13mm bolts holding the hinge to the hood. The hinge and torx bolt should stay with the fender.kellu wrote:Well the other day I pulled the front bumper off a beretta at a scrap yard to replace mine, going to buy it today for $40 or so. yeah I realized that when I went to get the bumper and looked it over a little bit more. I'm very inexperienced with restoration stuff and swapping out body parts on cars. I've only ever swapped out a bumper once and I was just helping a friend lol.

Gonna put a set on my GTU since it was repainted at one time and it no longer had the decals, and I'll probably save the other two sets for if I repaint it (neighbors dog scratched the hell out of the fenders..and our one cat used to slide down the hood with its claws out, god I wish I could kill that damn cat!) or need a replacement.
Everything pictured is new originals from dealerships that had old stock still left over.
Not great pictures, I can try to get better ones soon, and after I put a set on the GTU.
Was around forty something shipped for everything.

Pulled a bunch of parts off the base. Lots of good parts left, including exterior trims, interior parts (arm rest) stuff like that. Hit the sale thread or pm me for requests.

They're supposed to be side decals and I'm thinking they are, and they're sold in sets of two. Either way I'm putting them on the side decal location lol.
EDIT: Anyone have a rough estimate of the dimensions of the side and rear decals?

They are quarter decals... If they are large enough they are... you have no reference in the photo to judge size. Why don't you sell me a set or lend me one and I'll have it scanned and vectorized for archival purposes and re-production. You'll get it back in the original condition that you gave it to me in... I'll just have to re-sticker the front with the masking.

I just think the guy didn't know what he had, he did list them for Corsicas. They are 1 3/4" x 10". If I didn't have side decals I would definitely put them on, but perhaps you could use one to get an enlarged reproduction.GTU89 wrote:Burning_Beard wrote:That's a ton of bumper decals!GTU89 wrote:..............

I'm probably going to buy a pair just to have, these may never see the open market again. I think I'm beginning to become a parts hoarder.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Oh well, they're still a great deal. Might go back and buy a few more just because the chances of finding more originals is pretty slim.
And I'm sure almost no one will notice the difference.
@3X00-Modified: That would actually be a great idea, probably easier if you bought them from the link above. If you need me to sell/lend you a set let me know though.
They ship really fast, I got mine in like a day and a half!
EDIT: Yeah you're right Burning Beard, they're bumper decals.

Easiest way to tell other than size from the picture in the diagram is that "2.8 Multi-Port Injection" has a rectangle around it, whereas mine and the bumper ones in the picture do not, and the way they're cut out.
I wonder how many the guy actually has left?

I think Ken Hahn is trying to sell an original set on craigslist, quarters, bumper and imsa for $100. Check detroit CL auto parts. I don't know anything about him, there are threads around here with other people's dealings with him.

What's killing me is I found a supposed NOS number "16" in red for $90. I don't have that kind of disposable cash for a sticker that I want, but don't really care for.
I took some pics for you, I think the quarters are two piece.

Hmm, I wonder why all of the ones in the CL ad you referred me to are two piece stickers? Reproductions?

And also, thank you for taking the pictures, the bumper ones are close enough for me, looks way better than none at all.
