1989 Beretta V6 Base Model

Post by ChevyGirl »

So we got a beretta that was in a bad accident, has a reconstructed title too :( Here's the problems... Won't start with injector #5 plugged in. Has 5.2 ohms from the injector and 4.5 ohms from the plug. If you unplug it it starts right up. When running once it hits operating temp the engine lopes bad (due to running on 5 injectors) and hits 700 rpm and stalls. We replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel system all works besides the injector shorting the system. Any ideas?

Replace the injector... You've determined thats the issue so get rid of it. Oddly enough it's a very common problem on 2.8 and 3.1L MPFI engines, not sure why that one goes. Injectors should be around 12 ohms.
