brake issues

Post by bagged_and_loud »

Hey guys, after a year i finally have another z26. Story and details to come in a later post. (Is there an introduce yourself thread here?)
Any ways, i have a 94 z26 with 133,000 miles. 3100 with auto tranny. No brakes at all. Tried replacing master cylinder and forgot to bench bleed it. I think thats the problem right there. But has anyone ever had the abs module go out and not pass fluid through? Man, was this thing a pain to do. I mean not.exactly hard, just not as straight forward as other master cylinders. Going to try to removed the new one and bench bleed it. Then bleed the whole system again. After i bleed the master and reinstall, do i have to bleed the abs then the wheels? Thanks for having me back guys. Its really nice to be back in a z again, especially. This one. Thanks in advanced and sorry if this has been beat to death.

I've always bled the ABS first then moved onto the wheels... Don't know if that will cause the issues your having if not done with a new master but I guess O could see it giving you some sort of problem.

Ran into another issue, stripped the threads on the foremost brake line on the abs unit. Im thinking of moving up to. 1/4 fitting and retapping the hole. Any other suggestions? Without it, i cant blead the system and get it on the road. Thanks guys.
