Power steering pressure switch

Post by 88 Brrrr »

I have an 88 Base CL, 5sp., 2.0. I'm replacing all the worn out parts in the suspension and steering. I was getting all the stuff for the rack & pinion, power steering pump, P/S hoses and etc. I came across a listing for the power steering pressure switch. Do all 88's have them and if so, where can it be found in the compartment ? It also lists a Cooler for the power steering line. This appears to be a U shaped metal line going between the P/S Pump and Rack, that says its 75 inches long before it's bent. Is that under there in the Base models or are that an aftermarket item ? I know I should get under it and look myself but I'm nursing a bad back, so I'm depending on the mechanic to tell me. I looked in my Haynes and Chilton's, but can't find either one. I thought someone on here could give me a heads up and tell me first. Thanks !!!!!!!!

I don't know if the switch was available on the 2.0's or not. I do know that it's on the 2.8's.

The cooler line runs under the floorboard on the passenger side. It's there on all models, all years.

Thanks for the lead, I'll look there. Where can I find similar images for the 88', like you've shown, when not in Chilton's or Haynes ?

He has access to major repair manuals... Best you can do is try to find a 88 service manual for Beretta/Corsica on ebay and buy those. Some come in CD others are paper back.

Appreciate the info, thanks !! I have the Chiltons and Haynes specifically for the Beretta's. Sometimes they aren't enough, like the P/S pressure switch. I couldn't find a reference for the 88 , 2.0. Thanks again !

I mean like one of these...

Just search ebay for 88 beretta service manual, there are better condition ones for a bit more money. Well worth it since it's the manuals used in the dealerships when they were new.

Again thanks for the direction. I just bought the Service Manual and the two supplements from Buy it Now. Can't wait to see them.
