Door Stuck Shut, How To Open?

So in this new Beretta i have, the drivers door is stuck shut. The locking mechanism works, i can feel the lock rods and latch rods all moving but i cannot get the door to unlatch and open. Doesn anyone know how any tricks to getting the door open so i can fix whats wrong?

I had this problem once but it was more of the guy I was buying the car off of locked the keys in it... I didn't need the door handle so I broke it off and reached down to the latch with a screw driver and opened it.

It wont open from the inside either?

No it wont. And i have the door panel off fooling with the latch from inside and still cannot get it to budge.

Did you try the lock inside? The rod in the door may have broken.

Yeah i tried it all. I finally got it open. WD and a little more pushing and kicking and shes open. I pulled out the whole assembly to see whats up and found that plastic sensor in there where the striker meets the latch is cracked in two or three spots. Could this sensor have been the cause of it being stuck? And what does it do? It made a clicking noise when i unplugged it.

That's probably the door open/shut sensor... I doubt that caused the issue directly but it could have jammed it.

Do you need a new latch assy? I have one I pulled from my parts 96

Jon, how much would be talking for the latch assembly, and is it compatible with the 95 cause its OBD1? Also, will it come with the whole assembly up to the door handle?

Its kinda hard to see, but there is 2 small cracks in the plastic at the back of the striker receiver. If this is only for the dome lights, maybe i can get away with spraying it out with carb cleaner (like i did) and re-greasing the latch up and stick it back in. I dunno, once i got the door open, the latch was working just fine with the inside handle portion... Maybe when i get home i will put the latch to the striker a few times and see what happens.
