Rekindled romance....?

Post by quad4berettagtz »

So, I haven't had this for awhile...

I have not so much as started my garnet GTZ in about 9 months... Needed some exhaust work, could use some tires... I think I just DD'ed it too much last spring and I was all excited about my Indy.

Short version of a long story is I got motivated to get exhaust back under it and get her back on the road.. Just this past sunday night as I backed her out of the driveway and took off in 1st, making that shift into second for the first time since sept '13... I just fell back in love. It was like catching up with an old friend. Like the time between never happened, and it was the greatest thing.

This car has been part of my life for 15 years... and I never tire of it. Sure its got 260,000 miles on it (original engine and trans), sure there are some body surface rust spots that need some attention, and sure she could use a good full body paint job...

But who cares about all of that right now. I'm busy catching up with an old friend, and we are having a blast together...

I know exactly what you mean. First with the Beretta and soon when the Z28 hits the street again!

I feel the same way when I hear the rubble of the 2.8 in the GTU after having switched cars for awhile, or the way the GTZ takes off when the W41 cams kick in.

Then I hear the noisy bearing for the clutch and get annoyed.

I feel the same way every time I fire mine back up in Spring when I'm pulling it out the garage, best feeling ever!
