RPMs when Idle

Post by Luckymc420 »

I have a 1995 3100 SFI Beretta.  I have a problem with my RPMs. I will start up the car and she will run at 1 grand at first and then mayb idel up to 2 grand.  Then sometimes it will rev and go down then rev rev rev it can not stay at a certain RMP.  But when I put into reverse or drive she will drop down to 500 RPMs.

I looked over the vacum lines and checked for cracks or lines off.

Any ideas?

Sounds like the IAC is not working for some reason.

RPMs when Idle

Well I checked out the Idle Air Control and it was dirty so I cleaned it off and tryied it.  No change so I pulled the upper intake manifold off and then took off the throttle body.  They were really dirty with oil.  I put both parts in my parts cleaner and I am just going to let them sit and soak till tommrow night.  Plus I pulled out my power steering pump because then pump is leaking and pulling air in my lines.

This is what I am looking at for other soulitions.
