brakelight electrical preobem
OK. Here's the story. This concerns my 1990 GTZ Quad 4. The passenger side brake light doesn't work all the time. The car is stock, no additional lights or nothing. I've changed the bulbs, checked the socket. I thought it was a bad wire, so I spliced in another wire thinking that would take care of the problem, but didn't. The right side tail light/brake light works perfectly. I checked the voltage with my meter and I'm getting nothing through the brake light. It is a yellow wire. I traced the yellow wire to the wiring harness up to the trunk going up the side of the trunk to a connector. I checked the connector thinking it was bad because I was getting voltage to the connector. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. I took the yellow wire and connected it straight without going through the connector and still nothing happens, but I checked the fuses and everything else. The tail lights work fine. The emergency flasher/brake light on that side does not work. So I know it's gretting power back there for the brake lights. It's just the yellow wire that connects to the socket. Does anybody have an idea what it could be? Anybody familiar with where that wiring harness goes past the trunk? I'm sorry for the length of this. Just wanted to give you the details. I appreciate any help.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Try pulling the back off the bulb connector. Sometimes the goop inside gets old and kinda gums up the connection, causing an internittent fault (had this problem, took awhile to trace it down).
