Oh I am happy, this just happens with shipping from USA to Canada all the time. We get hosed up here on the regular, same package could be sent coast to coast in the USA for 1/8th the prince and 3x faster.
Called all the local transmission shops around here just before I order. One says they can get ALL bearing seals and syncos for $402.44 CAD next day shipping. Getting the trans pulled tonight and split, gotta see how bad the damage is.

Many years of undercoating, I never clean engine parts. Worried way more about function than looks.

The way I see it is the part is malfunctioning and leaking if it's getting that much oil and dirt on it

Metal flakes inside the transmission oil was a dead give away to me. I drained it last year before putting it away to replace a axle seal, so its only recent metal. Only put on this year maybe 1500k, You must have internet photo x-ray vision!
My donor car for the 5 speed swap was pulled out of the ground, and towed to my house I have no idea what happed to it for the first years of its life. Since I have owned the transmission, it has leaked from the axle seals a number of times, had probably 10 different sets of axles installed. All this is now cured with the proper rear engine mount, if only I could go back in time and fix my mistakes. Coolant leaks, that was fun, and is sorted out now also. The old 3.1 also leaked a shitton of oil all over it with the o-ring failing in the fake distributor hole. Drove it about 1000k dumping oil into it to get home for repair. Its been though a lot (burnouts, clutch drops, abuse etc.) and deserves some new parts put inside. Would rather this happen here than 1/2 way to beretta fest!

Now I don't feel so bad that my trans has to come out to fix a torque converter seal issue and TCC lockup problem... Those are the only two issues I've had with my build so far... Everything else has been good 150mile break in oil looked as it should so we'll see how the rest goes.

Tomorrow is going to be splitting my spare drive train apart, to get the second transmission off for parts/use. heavywoody is sending me the synco bearing kit from mantrans.
Fingers crossed this all turns into one good transmission for my car!

how easy was the swap wiring wise? did you have to add much or was it just extensions, I feel on my 92 i will have to add sensors for a newer engine, i could be wrong though
92 GTZ 3.1/auto, no real mods other then a strut bar, I fight hard enough to get it road worthy!

Re: Don't mess with texas - 3400 swap project
Have a bit of a major problem with this, I have two of these transmissions and my mechanic that is doing the rebuild seems unable to split them. Just sent him the manual that Eric had for his rebuild hopefully it has something different in it compared to the OEM GM manual.
He followed the directions he says of putting it into neutral and lining it up to split but both seem stuck. He's going to pickup a scope in the morning hopefully he can get them apart. Has rebuilt many from older cavaliers which i thought were the same casings.
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! I really want to get this car down to Mississippi!
oh yes and before i get flamed for not google searching I have sent him all the top results! I am looking for tips and tricks from someone that has done one!
