93 Beretta GT, not in perfect condition
Hello,
My ride is a 1993 Beretta GT so it has 3.1L V6 engine with automatic transmission. Also it's not in perfect condition, but it works. I'm personally more like a computer person and don't care that much about cars so... ._. Of course it would be nice to fix it some day.
Overall look of my Beretta:
And winter pics if you care:

I broke the 222222.2. It was something around 201k when I bought it.

Not sure if this is possible in US because no one posts these pics:
Then the muffler! Small photo is about two years old, second is just a few weeks old.
I already fixed it from the other side (welded new metal because the inlet hole was totally rusted). Now looking for new muffler because reasons.
Obviously the muffler isn't only bad part that needs a fix. The engine is leaking oil and feels like it consumes coolant liquid faster than it should. Also some body damage (dents mainly). It was rust protected (if thats correct term) at 2001 but now there are some points where I can see some rust. No holes though.
Vehicle inspection coming after 4th October 2014. -.-

love the car, hopefully you can get it sorted out for inspection!
Re: 93 Beretta GT, not in perfect condition
That's a DD for sure. How hard are they on inspections? What do they deem the car not fit for the road?

I know Weba had some issues in Finland with inspection and rust on his car... That's what deemed one of his GTZ's a parts car IIRC.

What a great example of a Euro Beretta!
But where are the Euro tail lights?
Your car has ALL the Euro/Export stuff except the tail lights!!
GM really played pretty loose on the export requirements it seems.
Enjoy your car!!

Looks nice, nice as any car could be where salt is used. Swear that I have seen it in a photo that Weba posted on a Bfest Finland.
Most of us here in the the USA don't post photos of our car with salt on them. It's just too depressing to us. We are a bit lucky, at times it gets warm enough to take it to the car wash for a hot water bath.

The car inspections are pretty normal I guess? Usually the problem is rust (rocker panels and fenders) which is a problem, then brakes and suspension. Also emissions might be a problem due it's pretty hard to inspect that what would be wrong, except for the broken or leaking exhaust pipe lol.
Also one part which belongs to the EU version is rear license plate frame/bucket thing which was destroyed in a rear-end collision a few weeks after I bought the car. -.- There were no new parts available so I still have my own "temporary" solution. Need to paint it and maybe add a second fog light because there is room for one.
Note: its morning, I just woke up and not enough coffee so sorry if this post is a big mess. ._.
It had Euro tail lights but I swapped them because one of them had a minor crack. I got my hands on those lights from a -88 Beretta so thats why they are red. It's not completely legal since this car was imported at 90's but none of the inspectors have said anything about those, so I'll keep them. I actually should have a photo of the euro lights somewhere...Asylum wrote:What a great example of a Euro Beretta!

Re: 93 Beretta GT, not in perfect condition
Seems like I slacked at posting the photos of the new muffler. Here it is:
Painted with gloss black for the looks and the muffler with something that should protect it from rusting. Not sure if it will stay on it because high temp but it can't be bad either.
Installed:
Before the 2014 inspection, I replaced this part from the front left. Not sure what it's called in English, maybe something like (suspension) control arm? There was a rust hole which is bad.
Also, I painted the license plate bracket thingy:
Next thing is the wet carpet problem. Not sure when I have time and motivation to do it, but I hope before next Winter.

That license plate bracket looks way better painted =).
Nice car! I have some salty pictures of mine somewhere, so you're not the only one who takes them .

Umm..
Not hard to guess which part got some new shiny paint (even without looking at the old pics).

New paint is nice, but why was it painted?

It doesn't stand out so much now.
