Re: LS1/t56 swap
Got these things a few weeks back. Havnt had a chance to touch them yet.. but I have them!
literally just tossed in the car, will need to be trimmed down and lowered. the ghetto supports will go away finally! should be really clean looking.

I was looking at some photos and I am interested in those pusher fans you have on the radiator.
Custom made or store bought kit?
Do you have a manufacturing part number/info on them?

Re: LS1/t56 swap
Mmmm Big n beefy frame rails.
B is for build did a similar 90* dropdown going into the trunk for my his M5/240 cart project.
For the rear of the car he ended up a using a Jegs backhalf kit - or something like that.
As you can see - he hasn't really touched the rear end - so far hes barely gotten the motor/trans/rear diff bolted to the frame.

Just universal, Actually put one of them on my geo lol. They work great I thInk. Freed up a ton of space!
Ill have to check that build out! Sounds interesting. I saw 2 of his builds at the gambler 500 a month or so ago. I looked at the jegs kits, But Decided to make what I wanted instead of making something else work. Not exactly budget friendly.. but whatever lol.

Re: LS1/t56 swap
Thanks, I have a 3100 CFM dual fan unit at the moment and although it fits I did have to trim the passenger side lower radiator hose to help it out a little bit.
I like how yours are pushers, I wouldn't have to trim the radiator hose again if I was to ever replace it.

Re: LS1/t56 swap
Yeah, you dont realize how much room they fans take up untill they are gone! They say pusher fans are not as efficient but I never had any issues. Worked good enough for me.

Re: LS1/t56 swap
Yah I think thats because of suction Vs pressure. But for a car I doubt its noticeable.

Re: LS1/t56 swap
I assumed it's because they block frontal real estate as a pusher and not as a puller.

Re: LS1/t56 swap
I might actually have to look that up. im curious now..
made a little bit of progress this weekend, jumped away from what I should be doing, had to take a break from reality.
FINALLY finished cutting out the drivers side for the frame rail. little bit of minor touchups to do, the rail physically fits. I think next weekend ill kill the rust and get it tacked in. Just out of time this weekend.
Also picked this thing up awhile back. Need to get a torch and pedal still but this will step up the build! few things I didnt want to use the mig welder for too so it will be nice to be able to do it myself with a tig. I foresee titanium parts in the future.

What wall thickness is the 2x4 HSS you used? 1/8"?
To insure it, are you just going to pretend its not modded and insure as usual or you insuring as a modified vehicle?

Re: LS1/t56 swap
I insure my old Plymouth through a company in Florida that has options for limited or unlimited mileage, selectable deductibles, and an 'agreed upon' value. They have a good reputation for backing their policy, or at least they did... Your Beretta is probably old enough, a company like that might actually cover it... IIRC, they were willing to cover my GTU a few years ago, because it was over 25 years old and maybe because it is a special edition. The only special requirement was that you had to have a 'daily driver' registered and insured elsewhere. Hmm, I've got to get a policy on my less-old Plymouth too, now that I think about it...Alxsmt wrote:its 1/8" (.120) 2x4.
