2.2 injector
2.2 injector
Anybody know if they put 2.2 injectors in different engines besides 2.2? An injector went bad on the '92 and most of the Berettas in the salvage yards around here have 2.8's or 3.1's in them.
How do I know the injector is bad? It was spraying gas out of the plug/connector on the #1 injector. Pretty obvious.

Guess there was a reason I couldn't find a 2.2 at the salvage yard. They pulled the only one they had and it was in there garage. Only had 3 injectors in it but they looked a whole lot better than the ones I had. Swapped out 3 and the car runs and idles better.
One thing to note about the 2.2 injector is that 3 out of the 4 injectors on mine had melted connector seals (specially the one that I noticed the leak on the seal was a mushy mess). Looks like a seal or something fails inside the injector and gas starts to leak out the prongs in the connector. Now this engine has almost 205k on it but it may be something to look out for.

I've never heard of that, that's not good. I've had to replace my o-rings and clean the injectors but that's it (2.8L). Glad you found some, man!
