1990 Clutch

Post by Guest »

I have a 1990 Berretta and it doesn't have a bleeder type slave cylinder on the clutch system.  The slave just has a hole where a swivel connection on the exit end of the clutch line tubing.  Apperently I have air in my line somewhere cause I have to pump my clutch pettal a few time before I can initially get it into gear without grinding gears and then I have to go all the way to the floor with the peddal before I get my clutch to engauge.  ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

sounds like air in the line - now my question,

Are these clutch lines self-bleeding?  I thought I read that somewhere and IF that is the case, then maybe air is constantly entering the system.  If your slave connection is loose, air could be entering there.  If not, it can be bled by REMOVING the lines of fluid from the car, placed with slave side down master elevated and just add fluid there.  Let gravity work.

Then again, if the system worked for you before, then I opt for a new leak and air is getting in.  Could be connection, could be line, but I've never seen our lines break.
