Audio Warning Module?
My 88GT has developed a weird electrical problem.I was hoping you guys might have some ideas here. On Saturday I had the car out. Parked it at home, shut it off, unbuckled my seatbelt and went to get out.
The seatbelt chime is going nuts, seatbelt warning light on dash is blinking, SES light's blinking and I can hear my turn signal flasher clicking. If I re-connect the seatbelt (with the car running or not), all of those weird symptoms go away. I have the digital dash, by the way.
I dropped the lower dash covers today to have a look at the "convenience center". It has a white flashcube-sized relay marked "horns", a turn signal flasher, a 4 way flasher, and this light blue rectangular-shaped thing with several terminals sticking out the bottom.
Is this the Audio Alarm center that has the seatbelt chime, and the buzzer to tell you when you've left the keys in the ignition or the lights on?
Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scanman88GT

Sounds like a short from the constant power pin to the ignition power pin in your Audio Alarm Module (mine was brown in my '88 GT, but I've heard of them being light blue like yours).

Audio Warning Module?
It's been making a sick kind of warbling sound off and on for the last couple of months. Also, the seat belt light will light up then go ouot intermittently while drive with my belt on. I'm thinking that maybe this module is going/has gone bad. Maybe I can get one from a Junkyard.

Just pull it out and see if everything goes back to normal. Try putting it back in and see if it straightens out. If not then you can try a new one.
The one in our Roadmaster goofed up and the interior lights would not shut off. Taking it out and reinstalling it fixed the problem.

Audio Warning Module?
Thanks for the input, Rex.
Is it safe to assume that since this is supposedly only an audio alarm for the seatbelts, key in the ignition, lights on, etc. kinds of situations, that I can pull it out, and it shouldn't have any adverse effects on any other aspect of the car's operation?
If that's the case, the I'll just take my time looking for one at the junkyard, assuming GM probably no longer makes this item. If they do, I'll bet it probably costs an arm and a leg.

Yes, you can pull the module out with no adverse effects. If you have no luck at the junkyard, I've got a couple of them sitting around here.
