high fuel pressure  2.2 throttle body

Post by ozzy »

have a 1990 2.2 with 90 k on it...like most people i have replaced countless parts and sensors on these pos's...i just put in plugs..new o2..decarbed the egr and intake..pvc and air filters....had it crap out on me with a very strange fluxuating idle...towed in in to a shop and the only thing they can come up with being wrong is an incorrect  fuel pressure(too High)..what can cause this to occur?...regulator? blocked fuel return line? bad pump? thanks for any input

Fuel pressure regulator is the most likely reason.  It would be possible to have a blocked return line, but unlikely.
