Car Stalling

My 91 Beretta auto 2.2L sometimes stalls when I come to a stop while still in drive. If you put it in neutral it won't stall. The car has no problems when it is in motion. The first time it did this was about two months ago and then it had no problem until this weekend(5/7). What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it? I'm going to replace the fuel filter in case it is dirty and it a cheap part to replace too.

This happened to a Oldsmobile that I worked on once. I replaced the air filter, fuel filter, and gave the car an oil change and it didn't do it as much.....We never found out what the issue really was so if you do let me know.

does the engine buck when you come to a stop or does it plain just die like you would turn it off?

Can you restart the car and just drive off like normal after it stalls?

The car bucks and then dies. The car will start right back up and go too.

When is the last time the transmission fluid and filter were changed? It might be due.

I has been a while since the trans fluid has been change and filter. I need to change the trans soon too. Thanks guess I will have to change a couple filters and fluids and see what happens.
