shaved heads?
ok, so my head gasket is gone so i'm in the middle of replacing that. and i wonder, would it be a good idea while the heads are out to be checked should i get them shaved down for high compression? and if so about how much should i shave them?

shaved heads?
are you sure its the head gasket and not just the intake gaskets?
If it is the head gasket I would shave the head the minimal amount if it is out of straightness. There is very little to gain by upping compression but a lot you can mess up so leave it as close to stock as possible.

that can still be the lower intake gaskets. i see it every once in a while on the 3.1s and 3.4s at work. it's the typical problem that plagues the newer V6s. it's not uncommon to see the "milkshake" in the oil. look in your coolant too, you probably will little specs of oil in there.
do, or have someone do a cylinder leakdown test. open the rad cap and the oil fill cap. pressurize each cylinder and listen for hissing or bubbling.

my 1995 3.1 Had a lower intake gasket go and it looked milky. but you might as well changed the head gasket.
