Solenoid On My Quad 4

Post by 19GTZ91 »

I have a problem with my 1991 GTZ i just recently bought, I bought the car last Aug but lost my license till June first of this year.  Back in Aug the car started fine.  Went and finnally pick it up to move to my new place and to finally get it ready to be put on the road and it wouldnt start.  Charged the battery, still nothing, boasted it, still nothing.  So am figured its either my solenoid or starter so i decided to go pick up a solenoid and try that.  Then I actually looked where my starter was on a quad 4 and was going at it for a longtime tryin to get it outta there.  I got one bolt from the starter and solenoid, just wonderin if anyone knew a easier way to get it outta there or if anyone might know what else i can look for.  I had two 88s and a 89 gt before but this is my first Quad 4.  Please help.  Plus I have a red and yellow wire going into my fuse box, except the yellow aint connected, Anyone know what this is for too

Is the wire outside the fusebox or inside the dashboard?  If it's outside the fusebox, it's not factory.

It sounds like the yellow wire isn't factory.  Factory wires don't wrap around each other except for ABS sensor wires (which you don't have).
