interior door handle

my interior door handle stopped opening my door so now i have to open it from the outside, has anyone else had this problem? and does anyone have any suggestions on what is wrong or how to fix it??

I don't know much on this, but you can try to take the cover around the handle off. You may have to turn it once it is loose from the door panel to get it off. The point of this is to see if something like a rod or a wire has come off. There should be a clip or something that holds whatever it is to the handle(it may have broke).  If you can't fix it there you may have to take the door panel off.
