Just thought I'd show off part of the tax return for this year. I picked up a set of Cobra 1 5/8" slash cut drag pipes for the Shadow. Very happy with them so far, they sound sweet and make the bike look much better too imho.
And yeah... I know the bike is ridiculously dirty; I'm gonna get it professionally detailed once spring arrives and the weather warms up.
Here's a little video clip too.
Idling with the new pipes. QuickTime format 3.8mb

Sweet! What year is that? My dad has one. I like the exhaust that his came with, yours is pretty neat though. I'm sure the video doesn't pick up on how it sounds in person. You should rev it up a bit.

It's a 1991; I bought it last June with 2,469 miles on it. Some old lady actually had it and hardly every took it out.

It's probably an 88 or 89 then; 88 was the first year for the VLX model.

Wow looks like im not the only one working on a bike right now. well I have a dirt bike but I just picked up 2 new tires (not pictured), grips, brake lever and perch for the Elsinore and did some general maintenance on the bike as well.
It runs like a champ since I redid the top end and rebuilt the carb.
Pulls incredibly hard too. hard to believe that a POS bike like this from 1980 can spank my brothers 7,000 dollar raptor haha.
Wheelies in first 2nd and 3rd are involuntary once you hit the powerband the front end comes up. 4th and 5th are more mellow for the front end lifting but you still gotta tuck down and hold on otherwise the bike will get away from you.

Wow, I couldn't have a bike and not ride it like that.  I put nearly 4000 miles on mine last year before it got stored for winter. So it went from 2469 to almost 6100 in about 4 months ÂÂÂ

wow you drive your bike more than I drive my GTZ
I bought the GTZ in August and I think I put about 1500 miles on it so far, and that's including the 350 mile trip to my house when I bought it.

I love to ride; any time the weather permits I'm on the bike. Saves a lot of money riding to work instead of driving the truck too.
