1988 Beretta GT Custom Project

Post by SuzukiGhostRider »

Ok, I decided to post this project here as it is mostly gonna be appearance work anyhow. The motor may get a few mods, but the interior/exterior need the most attention. I'm posting about 18 pics of what I'm starting with today and I will purchase a vid camera so you can hear the exhaust (very nice note to her) and a clip of my truck duals in another thread. Also so you can hear the engine run in the 'Retta. So anyhow, this is what I'm starting with and I'll be picking up my parts Beretta (White '88 GT/Maroon interior) from the JY on Monday. For now that's where my full interior is coming from. Feel free to post away with thoughts, ideas, criticisms, etc. I would love a lot of participation in this. I wil update with pics and vid constantly as I go. Oh and that black spot in the second pic.....think it's an ash from my smoke, lol. Sorry.

Another quick note. She's got a rebuilt '90 Cutlass Supreme 3.1L in her with about 2,000 on the rebuild, CAI and under drive pulley.

Nice pickup Mike. I'm not really a fan of the Mercedes tails but, it should look TITS when completed. ÂÂÂ

Thx bro. I wasn't sure I dug the tail lights either until I saw them up close. They are in new condition and really do look GREAT! The angel eye/halo headlights are absolutely tits! Can't wait to get this project done, but not rushing.... want to do it right.
I changed the oil today. Castrol 10W-40 and a Fram Xtra Guard filter. Going to flush the coolant and tranny in the next week. Also cleaned out some of the crap in the interior and fixed the flat and aired the tires up. Looks like the Driver's side window motor just crapped out on me. Was working fine up and down, but doesn't want to go up now. I hope the JY has one. I think they were all manual windows though......
So not alot of work today, but a little. Tomorrow should be a big day. Going to switch out the dash and get the parts GT and put it's interior in the Custom.
Took her for a little illegal spin after the oil change. I say illegal because no lights (tail or head or marker) and no front end (fenders , bumper cover, grill, hood) LMAO!! Sucker really pulls hard and torquey! I was impressed to say the least.

You know what would be a HOT color to paint it.... there is a pearl white they used on the early 00's Escalade. It was a pearl white with different colors of metal flake in the clear. My friend's brothers and father are in auto body and he did his old Iroc in that color and that car POPPED!! It really set that car off.

Yeah it is. Oh, crap I did put '89 in the topic title. Oops. How the hell did you know that anyhow though? The '88's and '89's look identical do they not? And considering this one has all the custom body work..... My mistake on the topic title, but unfortuately due to this site need a major update I can't edit the title. I see you're a mod Cliff. Wanna do me a favor and change that 8 to a 9 please?

1) the car originally had the first design door panels (see the braces on the door in the pics)

2) It has pillar mounted seat belts.

3) It has the old style washer tank with the hose in the cap

4) The coolant pressure cap is on the timing cover, not on the radiator

Certainly a great platform to start any build off of. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished.

Mind me asking what you paid for it?
