Bye bye Pink GT...

Post by Picolini »

Hey guys. I just recently posted my 92 Beretta GT in another thread and in it I discussed me getting a new car, possibly a Beretta.

But, after looking around, I found something I liked better. Sorry to betray the Beretta, but I feel this was a better way to go. What is it? Get on with the pictures? Ok!

It's a 1991 Camaro RS. It's the base RS with the same 3.1L V6 as in the Beretta's, but coupled with the 700-R4 trans. It's got 94K miles on the clock, but the engine and trans were rebuilt at about 77K miles, and it feel strong. So I hope it will hang in there for a while.

First thing up for it is new tires hopefully, they're pretty bald!

Also, I need to get the headliner fixed. The entire headliner has come loose, but there's no tears or rips. It is possible for a place to just re-glue it back up? If so, any clue how much it'd cost?

Anyways, on with the pictures, eh?!

Here's more!

Nice looking Blue 'Maro there dude! Yes, the headliner is an EASY fix. Take it outta the car and reglue it. Cost? The price of 3M head liner adhesive.

I love that blue color. So you're selling the Beretta?

Now that I think about it, is that Camaro the same color as your Beretta?

For the headliner I would just get new foam backed "headliner" material and than glue that on your board with some good spray adhesive.  The material isnt that much more and it will actually look new and good if you do it right.  If you try just putting the "cloth" back up the glue will more than likely bleed through the fabric and it will probalby look like crap.

Just my $.02

That's the cleanest Camaro I have seen in ages.  All the ones around here are beat to crap, and rusted out.  Looks good!

Very clean car, however, its slow as balls. Your beretta would walk all over it.

Im all for f-bodys (ill probly own a few), but 6 cylinders dont belong in them.

Thanks guys.
As for the head liner, I'm gonna wait a bit on that. I might try and repair it myself, but I'm worried I might **** it all up

As for it being slow, sure, it is slower than the Beretta at the lower end, but with the 4 speed **** does it pull much hard at higher speeds. I can get this from 60-100 like nothing compared to the Beretta. And the brakes were **** on mine, the Camaro's are seriously 10x stronger. It's a nice change.

As for the Beretta, nope, not selling it. My mom is taking it, sorry guys. It would have only been good as a parts car anyways.

And nope, it isn't the exact same color as the Beretta, it's a bit darker. I like it much more.
