Heating up

(snowblindburd @ May 07 2008,10:00)QUOTEI guess it just seems odd because I haven't had the air dam on my car since I put my z26 front on and I have the solid grille on the car.  It doesn't run any different than when I ahve my eggcrate on.  Every car has it's quirks though.
Your z26 front bumper should have the air dam built into the center of it in the bottom. That's why you didn't notice a difference. My kit is a Predator kit and doesn't have that air directing piece. Should look like or similar to the black piece in the center of this bumper.

The plan was to step up after the mods I was going to do. I never got a chance to get the chip for someone else on Bnet. I put a post in my RIP for anyone in Omaha,Neb(my car is up there).
Yea, I don't really think I NEED a chip to run a 160* t-stat. The t-stat is mechanical and opens on it's own. But if I'm going to run that much cooler, then I might as well get a chip burned for the other benefits.

Nah, there's nothing installed there, trust me.  I forget, is your kit one that goes over the stock bumper or does it exist on it's own.  IIRC the front and rear of those kits were three pieces that mounted to the stock bumper.  Of course that could restrict air flow also.

My air dam is sitting in the garage at the moment next to my car.  But i suppose I have a wider opening in the bumper.  Eh.. It just seemed weird to me that that was your only problem.  But I suppose it's entirely possible.  Good luck man, hope it keeps running well.

Yea, the bumpers are there by themselves, not over the stockers. Thx Snow,it's a bit strange to me, but I had another idea last night and I'm testing it today.

Yea, you don't need a chip just to run the stat, just for as you said, the benefits. I do short posts when I'm out of time and I don't always put things the way I should. Out of time again! What I should have said on the last post was that the computer still thinks that it has the 195 and may be making changes to try to run at that. It could mean less effeciency.
