Been gone a while, but need help
Hey Guys,
Been a little while since I posted here.  A year or two back, I traded in my 96 Black Rose Z26 for a 2002 Monte Carlo SS.  Everything was fine, until a few weeks ago when after passing someone, the engine started knocking.  First thing I figured was a spun bearing.  I got a replacement engine lined up and have already done the swap.  Pulled the old engine apart, and voila, spun bearing on the #3 cylinder.
Now, here's my dilema.  All the junkyards around here wanted $600+ for a 3800 V6, all with over 100K miles on them.  I was able to locate a junkyard about 40 miles from here, by doing an internet part search and found one supposedly out of a 2002 Buick Regal that had been totalled, with only 1,264 miles on it.  The asking price was $550, plus for another $25 they'd pull it and deliver it to me.  Needless to say, I jumped on it.
Yes, the engine was beat up a little due to a front end impact, but I was able to swap what I needed from my old engine onto the replacement and with the installation of some new gaskets here and there, am back in business.  The thing I find hard to believe, is that the place was selling an engine with that low mileage for that price.
I know in the past, some members on here with CarFax accounts have been kind enough to run VINs for people when they were requested.  Can someone run this VIN for me and tell me what the last reported mileage was on it?  I just want to make sure it's as young as it was advertised so I know what to expect out of it.  It feels stronger than my old engine did, but who knows.
The VIN from the Buick is 2G4WB55K921294383
As always, thanks for any info.
As a side note, is Jim M, Navy Jim, and Chazz still floating around?  Haven't heard from those guys in a coons-age.  Shoot me a message or something.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my Z26 ÂÂÂ
