ignition switch

Post by txwaco34 »

I bought a new switch for my 1990 beretta gtz. I got the old one out that would work without a key. Might of been damaged prior to me owning. When I install the new one it will not turn as if it is locked. Do I have to put the whole darn steering wheel together before it will work or do you think someone has damaged another part? It is hard to get installed and then when I get it in it is if the key is the wrong one. LOL . May have to break this one somehow to work now. Any help please!!!!!!!!!!

The key shouldn't be the same. You would have to take it to a place that does locks and have it set up for the old key.  You may need to be able to turn the wheel to get the key to move. Sorry, I'm not much help(I took mine to a shop).
