Motor Mounts

I'm just curious if anyone here (which I'm guessing they have) has put motor mounts in a 3.1.  I was looking at my '90 the other day ago and was rocking the car in park and noticed that the motor is flexing quite a bit.  Is it usually the top mounts that go out first or the one on the back side that is a pain in the butt to get to?  I looked at the torque strut on the bottom and it looks fine, I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on this and what I should change.  Thanks

It's usually that front one that goes out first.  It's not that durable.

I filled my 89gt front mount with fiberglass after a new one didn't solve the problem and because resin was on hand, and the car is ... well, you know.  EXPERIMENTAL! LOL.  It locks up, but the rear mounts flex somewhat because I left them stock, so if you're picky, do them all, or put some rubber in the mount [search making 240sx mounts or something... two part epoxy rubber mix deal with disposable cups, and that gives a liquid that turns into something like POLY! - thats all I know about that - I wish I knew exactly what it is]

note:  160k on the manual trans... 1st gear "hops" around with no load on level ground almost like riding a bull.... lol.  so keep in mind if the gears are worn, I suggest SOFTENING THE MOUNTS, not making them hard as 85% packed fiberglass... yes, mine aren't 100% resin.

I tried doing that two part epoxy on my '91 GT. It was a pain & messy. On top of that, if you follow the directions on the epoxy package, you end up with with something too thick to pour out. And you're going against the clock. This was all done with spare hardware. So I didn't have to worry about hanging the engine while the epoxy cured.
