KYB's And Eibach's

Post by Bandit »

So, I finally received my KYB's in the mail yesterday.  I got to installing them when I looked at an old set of Eibach's I've had for a number of years.  And they fit with about 1 and a half inch drop.  So they are going in needless to say.

But heres my question.  Along with many other aftermarket struts, these KYB's don't have the tab for the sway bar link.  I was told to simply get the sway bar link that bolts to the control arm.  Which is fine with me, other than the fact I can't find them on autozone.com.   Does anyone have the part #?  I am hoping to get this together today and go for a drive to check out my new found handling ability.

I just welded the tab onto the strut.  I will be doing this for my next pair of struts too...  Which will be SOON, thanks to our nice smooth nonpothole roads.

I have no welder so I'm kind of stuck with a different sway bar link.

Hunt swaybar endlinks And brackets from 90-91 GTZ, they have a different design that will bolt to any struts out there. Control arm mounting is not that effective and is a downgrade for you.

Well ****!

I just lowered the car on the wheels and these eibacks I got sure as hell won't work.  They are WAY to soft.  When the weight of the car was on the suspension the springs compressed all the way down.  The car is sitting as if it had roughly a 4 inch drop.  So tommorow I get to tear it back apart and put the stock springs in it.  Oh well, it won't be lowered but at least it'll have KYB's.   I'll get a pic uploaded here in a minute.  I got a lowrider right now mang.

Where did you buy the springs from?  How many total coils does it have?

I got the springs given to me a few years back.  It had same same amount of coils from what I remember.  And when I pushed the struts down when I got them together they felt firm stiffer than the stockers.  But I apperently was wrong...

Pics....

Once I find my camera....  I just took pics and lost my camera inside of a 2 minute time span....

Any pictures of the springs you put on up front?  How high does the back end sit?

I didn't have springs for the back.  so it is stock height right now.

If I push down on the bumper I get about 1/2 inch before it buttoms out.   Oh well, I just gotta put the stock FE3 springs back in.

I don't have pics but I can dig up a part number here in a short.  I'll have to jack the car up to see it.
