(Cliff8928 @ Feb. 19 2009,02:58)QUOTEThat rear shock tower bar is awesome!  Would it interfere with the rear speakers if they were installed? You wouldn't happen to want to make another one, would you ÂÂÂ

Especially since I also have Schroth Autocontrol harnesses.  Although I have the older 2" wide version, from the looks yours are the 3" wide belts.
I designed it to clear the speakers, even with larger magnet,  thats why it's angled to front of the car. Originally i weren't planning to mount the seatbelts there, but it seemed to be the best choice.

And i'm not going to do another, but i can dig you up a topic with all the pictures of doing that, in case you want to copy. Wont work with the rear seat on place if you mount the belts there.

Car will see a full rollgace at future, so then i can also sell that bar if you want to use all your money on shipping ÂÂÂ

Hah, can't you just bring it with on your next trip over

I don't know if I have enough ambition to make something like that, but it might work...

That grille looks very good on your car! I now see why you got that big bag of retainers.

Not 100% sure yet..  I have to get the missing bracket for the intermediate shaft, then get an adapter bracket.  That's not some random picture, it's actually my caliper.

Some more minor updates:

Something to hide the rear seat 'hole'. This will be covered by carpet, someday when i get working on the interior again.

Fire insurance is now installed, i hope i never need it.

Front emergency towing hook that's designed to work with the Z-lip, in case i need to be towed back home from the track 4 hours away, i hope i never need this either.

I'm pulling a rear emergency towing hook from my eurospec 91, and using it on this car, later tho, it's still under snow.

All that stuff is Heavy, but sometimes you have to just give up some goals to make things more functional...  I still hope the car is lighter than it was on stock, after i drive to the scale, if not... then i need to do something.

Some pics i took after yesterdays test drive:

This thing seriously cries for buffing once it's all done, also the painted fillers look extremely dull, they need to be professionally repainted i guess.
I have few ideas for small exterior adjustments..

That things gotta stop quick... Those rotors are HUGE!

Mr. Weba... Would you be willing to expose your plans for the front brakes so they could be duplicated?  I've seen your bracket pics but I would need more info on how it was done to complete the upgrade... I'm not sure if I want to go that route yet, or try the N-body stuff with vette parts... I have the 5x115 rims, but the spacers that I would need and longer studs is what I don't like about it.  IIRC yours didn't need to be re-spaced since the kuckle and bearing are factory L-body parts.

nevermind, I'll stick to N-body parts... Those damn calipers alone are close to $800

Creating a caliper adapter is pretty simple, place the rotor on hub (witch is bolted on to knuckle), put the caliper sitting on desired position and look what you need to do, usually it's L or I style brace with 4 holes on it. Mine is littler thicker (from material found laying around) and also has added supports to move the load away from bolts to the knuckles.

I'm 99% these rotors will only fit to 87-91 style hubs, newer hubs have less space (cause they have more meat for caliper mounting bolts.. witch is only a good thing! since the old setup looked weak from there.. thats why supports was added on mine)

The calipers i'm using are actually too small for my rotors..  these calipers are meant for max 28mm thick rotors and im using 30mm, and these do not cover the whole braking surface on the rotor.. anyhow that only leaves room for improvement if needed later, if i see 'big' brembo calipers for sale cheap someday, i may just do that. Summer 2009

Some of the latest changes on car:

Image
I installed Mach-1 front lip.

Image
Figured out that cutting the mounting surfaces a bit i could manage to force it very near the aggressive shapes on Z-bumper.
The round edge on bottom of the Z-lip saves the cutting short issue, what it only does at the tightest corners,
managed to reduce that with the cuts i mentioned. I'm very happy about how it looks and fits, could had been worse. :)

Image
I went with flat mounting because of the following reason:

Image
Hmm?

Image
After LOT of fitting & cutting.

Image
Made holes for my towing arm\hook thing and oil change, except those it's all solid all the way to passenger side axle. :)

This will mean Big reduction in dirt, water and other stuff inside the engine bay, protect my belt drive from stones and other unwanted items..
And take care of the thing that has always bothered me.. can't see ground anymore when looking thru Z-lip ;)
It's not bad for aerodynamic drag either, tho high top speeds is not the thing I'm aiming my car at.

Tomorrow i'm doing some more test driving, and if everything functions as hoped, i'm heading to inspection next week! Previous one was in 2004.....

(and if someone of my American friends is wondering what's so big thing in inspection, well here all the modifications need to be accepted by officials / DMV, it's not that easy to actually make something like this happen legally!)
