1994 Beretta will not start after running

Post by jharris525 »

Hi,

I have a 1994 Chevy Berreta. I can start it and drive to the store, turn it off and go inside come out and it will not start again unless it sits for some time.

I put in a new battery in Sept. I took it to Advance Auto and they put it on the machine and said:
Starter good
Alternator Good
relay Good

Help what else could it be???

Thank you

Jill

Does it try to turn over or does it just do nothing when you turn the key?

Possibly Crank position sensor in back of block if it will turn over but not kick off and start.

Most likely going to be the ICM (Ignition Conrol Module)
It is located Under the Coil packs (Coil Packs attach to it).
You can remove it to have it tested at your local Parts Store.
90 GTZ OBDII Intercooled Turbo 3400 5 speed (Beretta #16)
Wifey's car = 94 Cavalier Z24
Winter Rat = 99 Mitsubishi Mirage DE (1.5)

No start ever then yes ICM, no start hot, then 95% of the time its the crank position sensor.

No start after running for awhile can also be a weak/bad fuel pump. Run it for awhile in your driveway and turn it off. See if you can hear the pump whine upon KOEO (key on,engine off). If you can test the FP (fuel pressure) with KOEO. GL.
