Re: New Guy
The paint is in better shape than mine. Was that a scratch on on the fender in the CAI pic? That engine is very clean! Nice tint, someone put a cheap tint on my car. Is that an MRZ sticker on the side glass?
Where did you get your exhaust?

Re: New Guy
Yes that is a scratch in the CAI pic...it was there when i got the car...I bought some pulleys from MRZ but didnt put them on because they dont have a balancer ( i didnt realize this). I might as well sell the pulleys now (alternator and crank) The tint is 15%(made a huge difference). The tint cost me more than i wanted to spend because the back glass is really hard to tint because it curves so much. He had to double tint my back winshield. I will show u a pic if you want me to. Got the 2.25 inch piping done from a local exhaust shop (100 bucks). The muffler is a dynomax super turbo from Autozone. Fantastic muffler with great sound and great performance. Straight through mufflers do not sound good on 60 degree v6 motors to me.

Re: New Guy
Who needs a balancer on an internally balanced motor?
3100 with mandrel bent exhaust and CAI quick... LOL
I once thought that too... Till I built my beast.
Now to correct you on the MRZ parts... It's not a balancer the pulley lacking, Its a DAMPENER it dampens the harmonics from the accessories going to the crank and can prevent premature crank failure... Odds of that happening are very slim though. The only possible downfall I noticed of a UDP with no dampener is I had excessive cam chain wear, but that may have been due to a cheap cam gear set... My second motor I put the UDP on had excessive cam chain stretch, BUT that once again could have been due to my Milzy cam, and the LS6 heavy springs... It's hard to tell until I take the side cover off of this radical motor and see what happened with the chain on this cam and spring setup.
I paid 250 to have all my tint done and its a one piece rear section and all is 5%... You just need to bring it to a tint shop to have tint done properly... I attempted a car audio place first but they are not as versed in tinting as the straight up tinting place was.
2.25" exhaust from the cat back right? If so its rather useless of an upgrade... If you've ever seen the internal diameter of the factory downpipe on these cars you would understand what I'm talking about. Its a 1 7/8" pipe... talk about choking it.

Re: New Guy
You can keep the stickers if you buy their shock tower brace. I have one and love it and at 85 bucks it's cheap. I also have a Cav strut tower bar. Wow, 100 bucks for mandrel bent pipe. That would be a dream for me.
keep'em flying!
Re: New Guy
Ok Mr. no-it-all Pink beretta man...balance...dampener...you know what i meant....I'm not going to install it because my car is a daily driver and I don't want any engine complications...And I think that a practically stock beretta that runs a 16.0 in the quarter at 85.3 in the quarter is fairly quick compared to other berettas and the tuner cars in my area....just because your pink beretta runs high 13's doenst mean mine is not quick in my eyes dude
dont tell me what I need to do to my car because it looks fine the way it is
and no the exhaust is from the left headlight back...lol
.....please explain to me why a 2.25 inch cat back exhaust is a useless of an upgrade...it was an affordable upgrade that gave me positive results that I could hear and feel......every car has a restrictive downpipe dude....I don't have the money to do expensive upgrades like you....pick on someone your own size my friend...

Re: New Guy
Ok
1. I was explaining the common misconception of our Pulley's/Dampeners and how they are not balancers. Balancer... Dampener... Yeah I knew what you meant but others don't and sometimes need clarification.
2. 2 1/4 exhaust after a 1 7/8 downpipe is like feeding a fire hose with a garden hose... USELESS It added sound and thats about it. The rest of your restriction is in your downpipe and I was only letting you know that.. Most dont know how small that actually is.
3. Where did I tell you what do do with your car? I simply stated that many will try to get their cars tinted at audio places where they don't do our types often... your better off finding a professional tint shop to do it right and know it will come out good.
And lastly my first comment of thinking a stock 3100 is quick was supposed to be a friken joke. I once started with a stock 3100 and thought it was quick, and though 16's weren't bad, but once I took my car into the 13's on the bottle its a whole different story, 16's feel deathly slow.
Now lets take a step back here and see what we have learned...
1. Your new, expect some ball busting here and there, everyone gets it.
2. Your on the right track with your upgrades but there are some slight changes that could make them much better.
3. Lets respect the moderator team... no need to start calling me names, since I was not picking on you.

Re: New Guy
Ok I understand...no hard feelings...but im not with all the "ball busting" cause I can bust balls with the best of them. Im sure your a nice guy and ur car is pretty sick. But anyway lets forget it cause ive got a million questions for you.
